"Bright and bold textile designs inspired by nature in a tranquil rural hideaway."
Ingrid screen-prints most of her designs by hand, although success has means gone are the days when she used to put the prints out to dry in the sun. Ingrid's most popular designs are now machine-printed (locally) to keep up with demand. Inspiration, however, is on Ingrid's doorstep.
Ingrid Anderson creates original designs featuring iconic New Zealand native birds
, and retro Kiwiana patterns. Screen-printed in vibrant colours on cotton and linen, her products combine stunning fabrics with a good dose of Kiwi practicality. “I couldn’t find a decent-looking tea towel or apron, so ended up designing them myself. I think it’s really important that the everyday items you use all the time look good and are made to last.”
Ingrid has a purpose–built studio surrounded by peaceful farmland, native bush, and a wetland full of native birdlife. Who knows what native fauna or flora will next catch her eye to be immortalised in a gorgeous screen-print?
