Jessie Casson photographs people. Ordinary, but extraordinary people of this land. She has been shooting editorially and commercially since 1999. Born and raised in the UK she arrived in New Zealand in 2004 passing through as a honeymooner. And she and her husband never left. Her book Champions: New Zealand Winners was created over 3 months, traveling around Aotearoa/NZ in a cool 1970's caravan with their two year old son Dylan. Having grown up outside of New Zealand she feels that she is able to see this beautiful country through fresh eyes, capturing the differences and iconic aspects in her portraits. And she has.
