John hails from the laidback but incredibly beautiful Wanaka. Not surprisingly both characteristics are found in his work. While studying for his degree in architecture, John started the design of his first product, the Dew Hanging Chair. After landing his first job with reknowned architect Pete Bossley, he continued refining the Dew until it's current form... perfect for lounging in while taking in the breathtaking beauty of our unique landscape. John has a sculptural and architectural eye for structures, both large and small, the Dew demonstrating this through it's 'skeletal' form, making it both beautiful as a sculptural object, as well as functional as a chair. He finds inspiration in natural forms, in this case the structure of a shredded chrysalis cocoon. Sustaining this natural environment underlines his work. Watch out for further developments from this exciting emerging designer.
