Singer - songwriter - Wellington

"Treat your ears to a brilliant fusion of blues, folk, high energy rock and country powered by Thomas Oliver’s thrilling guitar and accomplished vocals."

A new album has just come out, go check out the new video!
With a fresh new sound unlike any other Kiwi outfit, the Thomas Oliver Band takes broad influences and serves them up in an exciting style all of their own. The band has spent the past couple of years gigging to acclaim around their hometown of Wellington and on national tours to schools and universities. Following their debut EP ‘Every Penny,’ comes their debut full-length Album, "Baby, I'll play".
With influences ranging from Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix, to Shapeshifter and The Dave Matthews Band, they defy comparison. But combining styles is what makes the band tick, and – like the interwoven natural threads on the CD cover - the diverse strands come together convincingly in six impressive tracks.
The Thomas Oliver Band is Thomas Oliver himself on guitars, Weissenborn, piano, harmonica, and vocals; Tom Scrase on drums, congas, percussion, and backing vocals; and Steven Moodie on bass, double bass, and backing vocals. Years of effort and saving ‘Every Penny’ have led them to the release of their first EP, but we don’t think it will be long before the Thomas Oliver Band becomes ‘world famous in New Zealand’… and the world.
