Dimensions: H 71cm X W50cm. Fabriano paper.
Inspiration: A phoenix rises up under the Southern Cross flanked by New
Zealand flora and fauna, fantails and ferns, with seabirds
soaring. In this crest the Latin “illigitimis non
carborundum” translates roughly as ‘don’t let the
bastards grind you down’ and it is this spirit of
resilience and determination, and a sense of potential
renewal and re-growth that I aim to convey here in this
crest.
