I create the original insect- usually a mixture of collage and drawing. Each insect is individually screen printed and then hand painted on to upcycled weatherboards, or paper, and then framed as if archived in a museum boxed collection.The use of weatherboard started as a play on the old, Kiwi 1950s trend of butterflies on a weatherboard house idea and is an integral part of the work.
