The set of Social Butterlies contains:
9 Butterflies. 3 x 120mm wide, 3 x 90mm wide, 3 x 60mm wide
18 brass screws (with masonry anchors)
18 spacers.
Social Butterflies are a wall sculpture; a Monarch Series (tones of warm rich reds) or a Flutter_Deluxe (18carat gold plated ones which catch the flashes of colour used by butterflies to communicate). Each series has nine in the set but they look even more impressive with 2 or 3 sets grouped socially together.
This artwork celebrates the forms and colours of nature engergising each other. We all like good company, fine conversations and stimulating experiences and I am sure that butterflies enjoy socializing too. My spirit soars when I meet a butterfly fluttering through my garden or while I am walking. To see a group is a wonderful experience and becoming even rarer. This follows on from the series, Going, going …gone, which explored their loss, whereas this series explores the forms, light and colours of butterflies.
