Brief description of design:

The design is made up of the word TOA (warrior). The design is reflected to portray the two teams meeting in battle. Together they make the face of a true warrior. The flowing lines are reflective of the flowing nature of the game and maori flair. The koru shapes represent the mangopare (hammerhead shark],which is a maori symbol of strength and warrior spirit, which both sides exhibit. The use of text as the skeletal structure of the design and building imagery around this enables it to serve as an eduction in maori language while portraying the emotion and intent of the word.
