Nohoanga bench seat - limited edition of ten
'Nohoanga' means a place to dwell - to sit, take a breath, relax and refocus, a reminder to 'be in the moment'.
Inspiration: Shane's new collection of Te Reo furniture explores his maori heritage through creative experimentation... "born from my desire to focus on a work-life balance, reminding myself to slow down, take a breath, sit, settle, look and listen, these pieces help to connect my soul to my surroundings" Expressing his art now through form and function, the canvas is translated from the wall to the floor. Each piece is limited in numbers starting from tahi (one) to tekau (ten), with individually engraved motifs on each. Designed to be simple, subtle and sure, they are made of flat cut pieces, which slot together to make one secure unit with no fastenings e.g. glue, screws or nails.
Materials: made from laminated white translucent film on both faces, over top grade birch plywood. The natural birch is exposed when the surface is engraved. These arrive flat packed with instructions on simple assembly.
