Casket & Bookshelf/winerack - a conversion option to allow the casket to be pre-used as as a bookshelf and/or winerack.
Description: The bookshelf-winerack holds 32 bottles of wine and an assortment of books and nick-nacks with style with its curved sides in contrast to ordinary square bookshelves.
Materials: laminated bamboo board.
Bamboo may be harvested after a mere 5-8 years compared with 25+ years for pine trees, and over 120 years for hardwoods. When harvested, bamboo does not require replanting. Sheet bamboo is produced by gluing strips of split bamboo together, under pressure, using high-quality European adhesives. This produces a strong, attractive sheet which contains extremely low amounts of formaldehyde, easily exceeding the strict European E1 standard for indoor air quality. This makes bamboo a more environmentally friendly option. The formaldehyde content of mdf-type boards commonly used in casket manufacture cause significant dioxin emissions when cremated, so replacement with bamboo reduces air pollution. With its excellent physical characteristics and ability to regenerate rapidly, engineered bamboo is an attractive, sustainable, high-strength replacement for hardwoods.
