Inspiration: known more commonly (and fondly) as Kaka's beak, Parrot's Bill or Red Kowhai, is seriously at risk of extinction. Kaka's beak got its name as it resembled the beak of the Kaka bird, a species of parrot that used to be found in New Zealand forests. The stunning reddish-purpleish droopy flower is the inspiration for this new design. Ingrid's new design is vibrant and elegant; swirls of green and red are not only strong and bold, but playful too. Ingrid says that she was ‘attracted to the colour [of kaka's beak] and the flower [which is] shaped like a parrot's beak'.
