Renee uses an electric kiln and fires to 1220 degrees. With each piece she layers various slips and glazes designed by herself. She uses the simplicity of the monochromatic glazes on these leaf dishes to enhance the cut outs. The satiny texture of the glazes also adds a tactile quality. Each dish is fired to stoneware temperature which gives great strength and durability.
The elegance and simplicity of the oval leaf form stands alone but also lends itself to arrangements of multiples as an installation. Hand made in New Zealand/NZ they are perfect as a gift for friends or family... to which you can add over time.
