This lamp has the added texture of tiny bumps on the lowest band.
Renee uses an electric kiln and fires to 1220 degrees. With each piece she layers various slips and glazes designed by herself. She uses the simplicity of the monochromatic glazes on these lamps to enhance the cut outs. The satiny texture of the glazes also adds a tactile quality.
The fall of light and creation of shadows around the forms adds a further dimension of texture, pattern and movement to the light as well as a stylish and funky sculptural piece alone.
