Up-and-coming Otago Polytechnic Design School student Juliet Symes delivers her first batch of "Be, with Joy" a simple kitset polypropylene lightshade inspired by a desire to create a product with less than 1% pre-consumer waste. Juliet recommends a 100 watt bulb. Measurement: Lenght =700mm, width = 180mm. 
Juliet Symes began her student life studying interior design, but quickly realized that product design was her thing when she took an elective course in furniture design in her first semester.
"I found that creating form was something I was really good at and I love the way product design makes me think and see things...The idea behind this ethereal lightshade was to design a light that created no waste in its making, and I got it down to less than 1% which I'm really happy with. It's made up of a sheet of cut polypropylene and when you buy it, it's flat-packed, so all you need to do is connect the two sides diagonally and pop the light cable through the slit. I'm inspired by simple beautiful forms that evoke that wee bit of familiarity that everyone can relate to."
