Inspiration: The Kina light shade is inspired from the shells of the sea urchin (kina in Maori) which are washed up along New Zealand shorelines. The shells are found under rocks and rock shelves on the shore below the high-tide mark. The flowing and interlocking curves of each part of the lamp attaches itself to an adjacent part forming a globular eye-catching glowing creation. Lighting up the Kina reveals the beautiful flowing interlocking connections of each element with its adjacent element. The Kina can illuminate a room beautifully either as a pendant or fitted to a ceiling rose.
Materials: Polypropylene plastic & acrylic. The plastic is completely recyclable, and on average contains 30%-40% recycled component. It is chemically unreactive/biologically inert.
Recyclable: The materials used to create the Joug light shades are 100% recyclable. Firstly we produce each light shade with minimal waste. The wastage that does occur when making a light shade is gathered and delivered to a recycle company.
Easy cleaning: Joug lights shades are made from plastic and can be cleaned with hot soapy water or, if you have stubborn dirt, please use an eco friendly cleaning liquid.
